Precision is an essential component of all aspects of manufacturing, tool making and related activities. To achieve these requirements for accuracy a wide variety of instruments has been developed to aid inspection, measuring and testing functions. Among these instruments are: – optical flats, gauge blocks, micrometer standards, feeler gauges, micron thickness gauges, electronic thickness gauges, height gauges, profile projectors, tool makers microscopes, depth gauges, ring gauges, thread gauges, telescopic gauges, hardness testers, clinometers, go-no-go gauges, bore gauges, brake caliper gauges, finger gauges, ultrasonic thickness gauges etc..
Each of these gauges have been built withstand daily use however they are fragile and should never been handled roughly. Even with normal wear and tear they will become inaccurate and require re-calibration.
