Precision temperature measurement is an essential component of all aspects of food preparation and preservation. To achieve the requirements for accuracy a wide variety of different temperature measuring devices have been developed to suit every application. They include temperature probes, infra red thermometers, data-loggers, digital thermometers, mercury/alcohol in glass thermometers and a variety of bi-metallic mechanical temperature measuring devices. Each of these instruments have been built withstand daily use however they are fragile and should never been handled roughly. Even with normal wear and tear they will become inaccurate and require re-calibration.
TEMPERATURE EQUIPMENT APPLICATIONS
There are a wide range of applications requiring reliable temperature measurements which include particularly in food preparation facilities including hospital, child care centers and nursing homes: cool rooms, freezers, dishwashers, ovens, sanitizers, wax-baths, Thermoscans, refrigerators and Bain Maries.
TEMPERATURE MEASURING EQUIPMENT CALIBRATION PROCEDURES
Temperature equipment items are first cleaned and then checked to ensure that they are not damaged. They are then examined for accuracy over the range of use in accordance with the specific Standard usually ITS-90 or to specific manufacturer’s requirements if stated.
CMS uses calibrated state-of-the-art master equipment to verify that temperature equipment is measuring within requirements and adjusted if required.
Temperature equipment items are returned to clients with a comprehensive calibration report within three working days of receipt.
