A Conductivity Meter measures the electrical conductivity of a liquid. The conductivity test is a useful method of determining the level of dissolved salts or impurities in the liquid and is very often linked to the level of total dissolved solids (T.D.S).
Conductivity is measured in Siemens per meter (S/m). For example, drinking water typically has conductivity between 5 and 50 mS/m.
It should be noted that the conductivity of a solution is very temperature dependent and must always be taken into consideration.
Conductivity Meters come in a wide range of types, costs and accuracies from simple and inexpensive types to expensive and intricate laboratory models.
CONDUCTIVITY METER APPLICATIONS
Different types of Conductivity Meters are used throughout industry and in laboratories worldwide.
For example, they are used to monitor processes in water purification plants.
Although most types of Conductivity Meters are robust, users need to ensure that they remain in good working order and accurate.
CONDUCTIVITY METER CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
Equipment used to measure conductivity is first thoroughly cleaned and then checked to ensure that it is not damaged. CMS uses calibrated state-of-the-art master equipment to verify that customers’ equipment is measuring conductivity within an appropriate range of accuracy and if not, is adjusted.
Conductivity Meters are returned to clients with a comprehensive calibration report within three working days of receipt.
